About The Workshop
Coiling is one of the traditional basket making techniques. The basket is formed using a foundation material coiled into shape and stitched to the previous row. There are many variations in foundation and stitching materials, type of stitch, basket shape and edge details. Your weekend basket will include several of these techniques resulting in a sturdy, colorful basket, plus the satisfaction that a portion of our plastic and waste fabrics are being diverted from the landfill.
Materials are included, unless you want to work off your own stash of half used yarn balls, clean plastic bread bags or produce bags, and fabric remnants (quilters cotton, home decor fabric, old jeans, etc).
Workshop Fee: $325
Tools and supplies included.
Lunch and snacks are provided, too!
Instructor: Jeri Weerts, 5080 Camp for Artisans & Crafters, Clio, CA
