Possibly Asked Questions

Who can attend our workshops?

Workshops are appropriate for a mixed group of skill levels. The workshops allow you to take the skills and instruction you need and apply them to your own projects or designs, whether simple or complex. 16 - 18 yr olds welcome with an adult.   5080 is not for children.

But what about COVID-19?

We will be guided by local Plumas County Health Dept recommendations. Our creek-side workshops feature plenty of fresh air and room to distance ourselves. We are optimistic that Summer 2021 is going to be full of happy energy and warm, blue skies. And a retreating pandemic.

What is the registration deadline?

Please sign up by July 17.  Our instructors need time to order and prepare supplies.

Can I get on a waitlist if a workshop is full?

Definitely!  Contact us.  We will do what we can to get you in!
Sign up for our newsletter to stay updated on newly added workshops.

Does 5080 provide lodging?

We do not provide lodging.   In this area, the demand for rooms exceeds the supply during the summer months therefore we suggest making arrangements early.  There are nearby AirBnBs, campgrounds, RV parks, and lodges. Make sure to browse our list of local lodging options.

Should you not be able to find lodging, we can allow complimentary on-site camping, just make sure to bring your own tents and supplies. Please contact us for further info if this option appeals to you.

Are workshops outside?

You will be crafting in the open air, sitting in a meadow, along a creek, looking up at the mountain. You may walk through the woods to gather a branch, rock or bit of moss to incorporate in your work. The workspace will be outfitted with tables, shade, etc to make make the space comfortable.

5080 is not only about expanding craft skills but also about being outside in community with all life. Crafts presented use materials that are close to nature.

What is the workshop schedule?

Please arrive by 8:45 AM.  Each workshop day starts at 9 AM, breaks for lunch from 12 – 1 PM, back to work for the afternoon until 4 PM.

What is the cancelation and refund policy?

You may switch workshops up until a week prior if space and materials are available. You may also gift your workshop spot to a lucky friend. Contact us to work this out.

If a workshop is canceled due to low enrollment or Covid19 restrictions,  we will contact you ASAP and you will receive a full 100% refund. We really hope this does not happen!

Where is the 5080 Camp?

Detailed directions will be provided with your confirmed registration. Basically, it is 45 miles north of Tahoe, California near the small Lost Sierra town of Graeagle and one hour west of Reno, NV. The property is 1 ½ miles away from the closest neighbor down a gravel road.

Will you feed me?

Yes, we will provide coffee, tea, and breads in the morning and simple, whole food options for lunch.

If you have specific food requirements, you are welcome to bring them along and store them in our fridge.  We will also have snacks and beverages available throughout the day.

There is a great brewery nearby for the best ever fresh beer at the end of the day!
