Possibly Asked Questions
Who can attend our workshops?
Workshops are appropriate for a mixed group of skill levels. The workshops allow you to take the skills and instruction you need and apply them to your own projects or designs, whether simple or complex. 16 - 18 yr olds welcome with an adult. 5080 is not for young children.
What is the registration deadline?
Please sign up for your workshop by June 15 and reserve your room at The Clio Inn by May1. Our instructors need time to order and prepare supplies.
Can I get on a waitlist if a workshop is full?
Does 5080 provide lodging?
New in 2023, we have partnered with The Clio Inn in Clio to offer you the option of Friday and Saturday night lodging with your workshop registration. Select this ticket option when you register for your workshop. Rooms are limited and need to be reserved before May 1. In this area, the demand for rooms exceeds the supply during the summer months therefore we suggest making arrangements early. There are also nearby AirBnBs, campgrounds, RV parks, and lodges. Make sure to browse our list of local lodging options.
We can also host complimentary on-site camping, just make sure to bring your own tents and supplies. Please contact us for further info if this option appeals to you.
Are workshops outside?
You may be crafting in the open air, sitting in a meadow, along a creek, looking up at the mountain. You may walk through the woods to gather a branch, rock or bit of moss to incorporate in your work. The workspace will be outfitted with tables, shade, etc. to make make the space comfortable. Workshops not suited to being outside will be based in the art studio.
5080 is not only about expanding craft skills but also about being outside in community with all life. Crafts presented use materials that are close to nature.
What is the workshop schedule?
Please arrive by 8:45 AM. Each workshop day starts at 9 AM, breaks for lunch from 12 – 1 PM, back to work for the afternoon until 5 PM.
What is the cancelation and refund policy?
You may switch workshops up until a week prior if space and materials are available. You may also gift your workshop spot to a lucky friend. Contact us to work this out.
If you absolutely need to cancel your reservation, please do so before June 15. There will be a $25 service charge to cover the round trip credit card fees. Cancelations received after June 15, will be refunded 75% of the workshop and, if applicable, The Clio Inn reservation fees.
If a workshop is canceled due to low enrollment, we will contact you ASAP and you will receive a full 100% refund. We really hope this does not happen!
