About The Workshop

This introductory woodcarving class will teach students the basics of how to make beautiful and useful butter knives and wall hooks from common California woods. Both items are utilitarian and beautiful in design. They offer an opportunity to explore basic hold techniques and intricate design elements.

This class will cover wood sourcing and selection, design, safe and effective use of axes, and knife skills. Tools will be provided for use during the course. Please come prepared for a class that can be physically demanding of your hands. We will be sitting for much of the class, but will spend some time standing as well.

Supplies included.

Lunch and snacks included.

Workshop Fee: $250

Instructor: Raliegh Campbell, Hearth Folk School, Sebastopol, CA
