Pine Needle Baskets & Gourds

Learn the centuries-old art of pine needle basket weaving using simple stitches and techniques. Learn to source and prepare the long-leaf needles, a few stitch patterns and how to add form and shape to your basket.  Embellish it with beads, feathers and moss to add your personal flare.  The second day will start with prepping and dyeing dried gourds.  Add a pine needle rim and bit of color and texture to create a unique vessel. You will go home with two functional and worthy vessels you will be proud to say you made.  This workshop takes place in an outdoor classroom.
