About The Workshop

This beginning spinning class will teach you the basics of creating your own yarn from natural fibers. The workshop starts with learning to spin on a Turkish drop spindle before moving onto the spinning wheels. There is a learning curve as you train your hands, feet and brain new 'muscle memory', but as you practice and fine tune your technique it will become a very relaxing, almost meditative past time.  Skills and information covered in this 2 day workshop include:

spinning singles and plying, different fibers and yarn design, types of spindles and wheels, staple length, spinning in the grease and Navajo plying.

Your Turkish drop spindle and wool roving are included.

We will have spinning wheels to borrow for the workshop with an option to purchase. Bring your own wheel if you have one.

If you already know you are ready to purchase a wheel, let us know and we can help with your wheel decision.

Lunch and snacks included.

Workshop Fee: $250
