Willow Basket Weaving

This 2-day workshop presents the foundations of willow basket weaving.  The essential basket weaving techniques will be covered including; building a solid base, adding whips, shaping walls, binding off the rim and adding a handle.  The course is geared for the novice weaver and anyone wanting to review foundational techniques. While weaving, we will discuss harvesting and cultivation methods, willow preparation, and ongoing care for your basket. The outdoor classroom sits above the Mohawk Creek to keep the willow cool and moist. While it can take many baskets to become proficient, a beginner can make a decent basket in this weekend course.

Willow provided. Bring garden clippers, if you have them.
