Willow Basketry

This workshop is perfect for anyone,  regardless of willow experience or skill level,  who is ready to spend two days weaving willow. The essential basket weaving techniques will be covered, including building a solid base, adding whips, shaping walls, and binding off the rim. Experienced weavers might choose to experiment with a new shape, a fancy stitch or two, and handle design. This an open studio format where you direct your time and project while benefitting from Nick's skill and guidance. While weaving, we will discuss harvesting and cultivation methods, willow preparation, and ongoing care for your basket. The outdoor classroom sits above the Mohawk Creek to keep the willow cool and moist. 

Workshop Fee:   $325 

Willow provided. Bring garden clippers, if you have them.
